    We are having issues with Optim seeming to hang at various times when the archive is complete and appears to be attempting to produce the Optim report (at least that seems to be the phase it is in).  If we cancel the job, the archive file appears to be valid but no report or xml file.  It does not happen all of the time but the last 2 times we ran this one job it has hung.  We had split a larger archive up because it got a JVM failure producing the XML file (we got the report). So we decided it might be because of the size.  Now the first 1/2 has hung twice.  Once as running as local and once running as server - hangs in same place.

    Has anyone else experienced similar issues?  This one is archiving SQL Server tables - all as reference tables.

    Looks like we have fix for this problem but I wants to know what Optim release including Fixpack level you are using and platform(s). This kind of problem is not related to either volume of the data extracting or database objects.

    We are on Optim 11.3 fixpack 6a for Windows 64bit.  I believe we have also installed ifix 5.

    Initially when responded I was not aware of the PMRs. Now I got to know complete details and I am closing working with support team.

    @Joe Hattaway , We have experienced hanging Optim jobs for some time. It's random when it occurs, but it's almost always when more than one Optim job is running. It hangs in both PR0CMND and PR0SRVR steps (we run Optim from .bat files). My guess is poor memory management and the job threads get confused and ultimately go off into the memory abyss. I say this because we've seen memory management issues with the software in the past that have been addressed by various patches.

    I opened a PMR last week with IBM for a similar issue of hanging jobs, but it's too soon to report on anything yet. Sounds like someone in this thread said there was a possible fix, so let's hope so! Please update the thread if you find out any additional details.
