    Our customer is considering the switch from Optim on Linux to Optim on Windows and wants to know with customers having such a configuration in production: Optim/Windows to anonymise data in PostgreSQL. Can you please share a reference in the same situation?

    Imad,

    I don't have a specific customer reference but Optim on Windows supports all the same data sources as on Linux.  I use it all the time to demo the products.

    I would have no issue with making that move.

    Hi Imad,

    As usual there are tradeoffs.  Here are some considerations for your decision:

    1. Because the Optim UI (Classic or Designer) requires Windows, you always need some part of Optim installed on Windows.
    2.  Optim on Windows is a good idea because it is 64 bit, which often makes it easier to find connectors to data sources.  There are no plans on the roadmap (through Q1 2023) to support Optim on Linux or AIX  64 bit.
    3.  Depending on your workload, Optim on Windows can be "less concurrent" than Optim on Linux/AIX.  On Windows you can install only one instance of an Optim server, whereas on Linux/AIX you can install multiples.  And an Optim server, whether on Windows or Linux/AIX, is limited to 48 threads.
