And the "AIX Toolbox Cryptographic Content" section only has the older versions of those tools.

Should I be able to acquire the necessary libraries to go with the newest versions of the tools?

We build wget, curl etc.. which requires libcrypto & libssl using the AIX default openssl lpp package, but not from a separate openssl rpm package.

These library should be present in your system in /usr/lib path.

Can you try installing these packages after running "updtvpkg" command ?

Also let us know the details of the error you are seeing.

Other possibility could be that you might be having older version of openssl lpp package in your system.

    Thanks,

    Sangamesh
