  • 1.  migrate from sql to snowflake

    Hi everyone,

    I was wondering if you have any idea to migrate data source from sql to snowflake? 

    I have hundreds of report on Cognos 11.7.1 which is connected to sql data base and would like to have the same reports on Cognos 11.2.1 which is connected to snowflake. All reports data sources are sql queries and I was thinking of changing queries data source would be the solution but it might not be possible. Any idea about the feasibility of moving reports?

    You can try creating a report that points to an ms sql data source. Save the report definition. Then change the data source to snowflake and save the report definition. Then compare the two report definitions to see if the data source is in the report definition. If it is i have an ms sql stored procedure that will REPLACE specified text in report definitions. There is also an Cognos utility that replaces text. (i would have to look for it)
