I 100% agree that this should be a feature.
Some workbooks are intended for input, some are intended for presenting additional data for consumption.

Looks like there was an Idea loaded to do this but is showing as Not under Consideration as security should be managed in the engine.
Not always practical to do these things with security as in some case like I mentioned previously, you want the read-only view even if security grants write.
I know at least one competitor where this is a simple slider...
@STUART KING - Is this something that is difficult to implement/not supported in the viewer? Could it be put under consideration?

George,
Totally agree with read only. Lots of really good use cases.
Currently what we do for read only rows/columns is to substitute the actual row/column with an MDX WITH MEMBER that references the same, as these are always read only. It's a bit more work than needed, but it works.

Would be good to have more powerful formatting across rows, columns, multiple selections etc.
Not only things like alignment, styles, fonts etc. but double-click for autofit column width.
Another thing that would be nice is to have an option to make the grid or parts thereof read-only as sometime you do not necessarily want to apply security but really just want to block numbers from being accidentally over-written where users do have access.

Correct, Adam and Florence - right now you would need to apply the alignment to the cell data one row or column at the time. More options may be available in the future releases.

Thanks Florence! Any way I can do this for Cells, not only the Member (i.e. column header)?

Hello Adam,
Sure, you can right click on the header of rows or columns to set alignment for all members in rows or in columns.
Regards.

Hello friends in IBM PA,
In the new experience cube viewer (PAW v83) I know how to set single column member alignment/cell alignment to be centered. Is there a way for me to change multiple columns or all the columns to be center aligned?
Thank you!
Kind Regards,
Adam
