Only the cubes metadata is loaded in memory as default, so all the transactions is in the database, and can be in various summery tables, so the Dynamic Cubes rely on at good database set up, for best performance, and have no maximum size.

If you have a dynamic cube with 30,000,000 members, it is called "very complex cube" (based on the IBM Cognos Analytics 11.2 Dynamic Cubes hardware sizing document).
