Maximo UK & I User Group Meeting Thursday 29th November 2018 London
The November Maximo User Group meeting in London has closed the eventful year for UK and Ireland Maximo Users with the new 7.6 version of Maximo, 7.5 end of support (EOS) and first 2-day reliability event co-hosted by Maximo User Group and Reliabilityweb that happened in June.
This November, the venue was filled to the brim and after a warm welcome from Richard Barber the MUG session was started by inspiring key note speaker John Woodhouse challenging us to think about the role of the EAM system.
With the focus on upgrading Maximo, there were two customer upgrade journey stories: Premier Oil partnering with BPD Zenith have presented their journey from Maximo 7.1 to the latest 7.6 version and, offering another approach, Dutch company Perfetti showcased their upgrade to Maximo 7.6 including Maximo Anywhere and Work Centres with partner MACS.
The discussions and concerns around upgrades, among other topics, were continued at the Interactive Table Topic session – the 15 minutes slot where everybody had an opportunity to discuss with an expert present at each table the specific topics in detail. They were the following:
- 6 Roadmap (Kim Woodbury of IBM)
- 6 Upgrade (Premier Oil/Perfetti)
- 'Time to automate?' by MaxTaff
- BIM (Martin Harris of IBM)
- The EAM system by John Woodhouse
- Build a Custom Application to Manage all Queries by BPD Zenith
"A Word from our Sponsors" the 5 minutes slots showcasing the sponsors Arrow, Interloc, BPD Zenith and CognitoiQ products and services was a wrap before the networking over the splendid lunch provided – many thanks to the sponsors.
The stimulating conversations allowed for insightful users' questions that were answered by the topic experts during the after - lunch session. The Interactive Table Topics have returned due to popular demand and again were a big success.
The highly anticipated "Maximo Product Overview and Roadmap" session by IBM's Kim Woodbury will now be presented as a webinar and available for Maximo users to revisit – details to follow shortly.
The next meeting is planned for May 2019 and, for the 1st time, Maximo User Group plans to come to Dublin, Ireland.
Please share your topic's ideas for the next year meeting – tell us what you want to hear more about.
Don't miss out on the day of Maximo user stories, innovations snippets and networking opportunities with fellow Maximo users.
