    Hi Jignesh,

As a System Administrator, you should have a thorough understanding of HTTP status codes (see RFC2616, Section 10), knowledge of Maximo's MAXMESSAGES table, expertise in interpreting server log files (application, database, and Maximo), and a solid grasp of application architecture.

    Hi Jignesh,

There isn't a troubleshooting 101 guide as such.

Various organisations, like Cohesive, will sell you training to help you develop your skills.

    There are various blogs:

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/maximo-support-advice-from-non-ibm-engineer-article-mark-robbins/ - I discuss log files and the technical aspects of how Maximo/MAS works.

IBM have a number of free training courses on how to use Maximo - https://www.ibm.com/training/

Increasingly they will refer to MAS (Maximo Application Suite) but a lot of the content will still be valid for a Maximo installation - with the exception of User management and the login process.

There is a system administration certification that you can gain - "IBM Certified Administrator - Maximo Manage v8.x" - they have probably updated it for v9.x now.

A significant portion of that will be relevant to Maximo.

It is best to try and get some formal training because Maximo/MAS is complex and learning "on the job" can create dangerous gaps in your knowledge.
