Hello,

Anybody know why sort not working in Inventory list. Here I have number values and Sortable checkbox is checked. But here at second image, I cannot sort by values I dont know why? Main Object at these 3 values is INVBALANCES. I know its because I cant sort because main object is INVBALANCES, but is there any option to do that?

Hi Blaz,

A few questions to help narrow this down:
What version of Maximo is your system? Is this Production or Test? What is your database type?
How are these new fields defined in Database Configuration and are you using a domain? Are you using a relationship?
Have you added sort type in the lookup.xml for these fields?

Here is an example of adding lookup functionality to a field using a table domain.

I have add 3 RELATIONSHIPS to main Object INVENTORY, child object is INVBALANCES --> attribute here is CURBAL.

Where Clause for 1-NOV for example is:

itemnum = :itemnum and location = :location and siteid = :siteid and itemsetid = :itemsetid and conditioncode ='1-NOV'

- In XML file I just add sortable=true, but is not working.

Any idea why?

is this field persistent? If not, then out-of-the-box it is not possible. I remember that some years ago, someone has posted a workaround solution to use a button and Java class.

Hi Blaz,

the relationships have nothing to do here, you must check the field properties in the Database Designer application.

I had sent this in the MORE Maximo community post but the main issue is Maximo has never supported sorting through relationships. I requested this as a RFE in 2013 (https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=37940) and it was supposedly delivered in 7.6.1.2. 

However, we've not yet been able to get it to work. Even using a simple 1:1 relationship (like INVENTORY->ITEM) we still couldn't sort even though the attributes have a search type and are persistent. We hadn't opened a case with IBM to determine if there is something special we need to do to make it work but I opened a case this morning to try and get their feedback.

From your case Development says the 7612 enhancement only applies to REST API, not the UI.  
You may want to re-open your RFE as it really was not delivered as your request was for UI.

I have confirmed with development that for 7612 , the only enhancement was for REST API sorting only. There is no plan for it on the UI side at this time.
Not sure why the RFE was closed as that RFE appears to be requesting it for UI. You may want to re-open your RFE.
