  • 1.  Maximo Scheduler - real world use

    Hello

    We are continuing our exploration of features in Scheduler. We will also be looking at automatic scheduling / assignment via Optimiser but that will be for a separate set of questions I imagine.

    Our use cases will be around the scheduling and assigning of thousands of PM works a month.

    I have reviewed the available training materials and videos (e.g. by Lacy) but lots of these seem to be from 2020 and I believe there have been enhancements to the graphical applications since then and the materials seem to be working on limited data sets and assigning a task at a time.

    I can understand how the applications can be utilised to assign single assignments at a time - but not seeing how you can actually use the application when you have say 100's of unassigned works in a week  and need to bulk assign them.

    Are any of you using Graphical Assignment (would prefer this to Work Week as this I believe is more aligned to Optimiser) with these kind of volumes - how do you make it work for you. Are there more case studies / videos etc to illustrate this usage.

    The article on Assignments has a section towards the bottom called - Assign Multiple Assignments in one action.

    Andrew, many thanks for the reply. I had come across your guides in my researching and I think GWW may be useful for some applications where we currently utilise Assignment Manager.

    At the moment I am trying to explore use of Graphical Scheduling / Graphical Assignment as I think those are the apps that are aligned with Optimiser which we will need for some use cases.

    I guess my original post was to try to get any useful experiences in use of scheduler in the day to day use with volumes of especially PM works.
