Are you using Internet Explorer and can you check what you have for the mxe.doclink.usefileprompt system property? This by default is set to 0 and impacts what happens when the "Copy document to the default location set by your administrator" isn't checked. I believe the file prompt option was only supported on Internet Explorer and I can't run that for testing.
With Firefox and Chrome I can't seem to recreate. When this is set to 0 or 1, I uncheck the copy document checkbox, and provide the filepath to a file, everything is discarded when I save the record. It isn't added to my docinfo at all, let alone modified. I am on a newer version (7.6.1.2 IFIX 010) so it's not entirely an apples to apples comparison.

Subject: Maximo Manage Library Issue
Hi Team,
There is issue which I recently faced in manage library option in IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.1.1. Can anyone let me know how can I fix this issue.
Replication Steps:
- Click on Add new file in manage library option and uncheck "Copy document to the default location set by your administrator (recommended)?"
- Specify a File Path and Give name of Document
- Click on Ok.
Issue:
- Observe that File path which i have mentioned in URLNAME field ( \\10.242.130.81\DOCLINKS\ATTACHMENTS\test.docx) has truncated and saved only .\documentname.extention (.\RAHUL15JULY.docx)
