    Hi everyone,
     
    I saw the IBM announcement yesterday about the release of MAS 9, and as a current user of MAS, I have a few important questions regarding the transition.
     
    We recently migrated to MAS 8, and I want to understand the requirements and process for moving to MAS 9. Specifically, I would like to know:
     
    1. What will be the way forward to move to MAS 9?
    2. Will it be an automatic update, or will there be specific steps we need to follow?
    3. Are there any specific procedural requirements or considerations we should be aware of, given our recent migration to MAS 8?
     
    I would greatly appreciate any insights or guidance from those who have experience with similar updates or from IBM representatives.

    Hi Khaild,

    Is your MAS 8 on IBM SaaS? I'm in the process of migrating our on prem Maximo 7.6 to MAS 8 with IBM SaaS. We just got our MAS 8 test environment and will be looking to upgrade to MAS 9.

    Hi Khaleed,

    update from MAS 8 to 9 is a relatively simple one, especially for MAS Core and Manage. Update the catalog source definition in OpenShift and the rest is done using standard operator update.

    If You are using CP4D, Predict or Assist then there are couple more steps to follow, but for Manage only deployment, the update is very smooth. Also You can go straight from 7.6 to 9, without going through v8.
