    Microsoft has announced the retirement of Basic Authentication for SMTP in Microsoft 365 by September 2025.

    Given that Maximo currently does not support OAuth2 for SMTP, what are the recommended options or workarounds for:

    Clients in extended support after September 2025

    Smaller clients who have not yet upgraded

    Clients planning upgrades towards the end of the year

    What viable solutions exist to ensure email functionality continues in Maximo beyond the Basic Auth deprecation?

    Srikanth,

    One thing we've proposed to our clients is using a third-party SMTP service such as SendGrid. It requires some DNS setup to do right, but nothing crazy.

    I'm not sure whether IBM will provide a workaround or a fix for this issue. This could become a significant concern after September 2025.
