BIRT is not being removed from MAS (at least to my knowledge). Cognos is added to MAS, but does not replace BIRT.
As for installation: when deploying Manage using MAS DevOps Ansible Collection You can set the following vars to get CP4D (and Cognos afterwards) installed:
export CPD_INSTALL_PLATFORM="true"
export CPD_INSTALL_COGNOS="true"
export CPD_PRODUCT_VERSION="4.6.3"
next, follow this instructions to get Cognos running within CP4D: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/masv-and-l/maximo-manage/continuous-delivery?topic=server-creating-cognos-analytics-instances
Be aware that there are licensing limitations - as listed here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/masv-and-l/maximo-manage/continuous-delivery?topic=analytics-cognos-entitlement-maximo-application-suite
Lastly, CP4D with Cognos Analytics is quite resource hungry setup. 10vCPU and 64GB RAM is the minimum from my experience (sizing calculator show a bit less, but it is a bit too optimistic).

Subject: MAS8 and Cognos
Hello Everyone,
We are planning to upgrade from Maximo 7.6 to MAS8 and also are in discussion on what BI Tools we should be using in our organization.
For this, I read that MAS8 now comes with Cognos and is no longer upgrading BIRT.
Can someone confirm this and give some details on roadmap as to when BIRT will be removed from Maximo....
Also... for Cognos, does Cognos now gets install automatically when Maximo is installed... or there needs to be a separate installation and setup for Cognos... as, if I correctly remember, was required for Actuate... whereas BIRT gets auto installed with Maximo installation
Please give some details
Thanks in Advance
