Hello.I'm new to our Maximo group admin(about a month) .we're on 7.6.1.3 version running on Win2019 server with Websphere on premise. Currently we're trying to plan for the MAS 8.X upgrade..Hopefully we can install MAS on our non-production environment (on premise) as soon as openshift is setup by our data center....
Questions:
- Aside from Manage, can we disable or turn of other modules such as Health, Monitor, etc..
- On previous upgrade, 7.6.1.3 was installed on top of existing version, but for MAS our backend architecture will change from Windows server to Linux openshift, does that mean the MAS 8.X upgrade will be a fresh install? If so, data our is iOracle based and needs to be reconfigured to communicate with MAS...?

Hi Kevin,
it is possible to set up a development environment outside of OpenShift. It requires very small amount of resources and process of getting new java classes into such environment takes about 2-3 minutes. There is a manual on how to do this in MAS docs: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/maximo-manage/continuous-delivery?topic=administering-setting-up-local-maximo-manage-development-environment
You will have to tweak the dockerfile a bit with Your own parameters and also couple missing ones.

In Maximo 7.6, we had the ability to do a quick build in WebSphere (for quickly deploying custom class files). Does anyone know if there is something similar in MAS 8 rather than having to rebuild? In 7.6, we could do a quick build in 5-15 minutes. In MAS 8, it's taking much longer because it has to do a full rebuild.
