We plugged out a wrong hot swappable disk which was part of mirror disk for rootvg. Eventually the disk was plugged back and system (lsdev -Cc disk) recognised the disk. But the lsvg -p output was showing the PV is missing and stale PPs. I want to know if there is a way to get the rootvg back to order without rebooting the server. Thanks in advance.

I also do a "syncvg -v rootvg" to resync the mirrors but I believe the varyonvg command will resync the mirrors so that may not be necessary.

Agreed. We do a failover test in the APV class each week and the varyonvg rootvg does always sync the LVs.
