    I do not think so as the disk to be mirrored will need the server to be up and running on the DR machine , however I do not see any problem i n configuring the mirror when the DR is up.

If your mirroring using the lvm on logical volumes there is no reason why you cannot add the lv copies at a later date and maybe mirror locally as an interim solution. Synchronising the mirrors can be done on-line although it can be very cpu intensive and you may want to do this offline
