  • 1.  Looking for recommendations on FinOps Training

    Looking for recommendations on FinOps Training.

    Background:  I work for a company the is a large defense contractor and we started our TBM journey in 2015. To date the majority of our focus has been on CT/ITP and TCO. Our cloud presence has been growing slowly but we anticipate further growth in this area. 

    I am our TBM Lead and am very much involved in the 'under the hood' model work as well as developing reports to need our customers needs  I'm looking for some FInOps 101 training I can take to prepare myself for increased use of Cloudability/GovCloud.  I will be very much involved in the cost/finance side.  I'd prefer to set aside a few days (or a week) to attend onsite training (less distractions).  

    I welcome any feedback you guys can offer based on your experiences.  Thank you in advance, Doug Copeland

    The CLDY curricula in Apptio University start from the very basics of FinOps. @Jenny Goodwin can surely help here.

    Also, they used to offer the FinOps certification, backed by instructor-led sessions.

    I definitely recommend you earn the ACP: Cloudability which you access with an AAEP (All Access Education Pass) and the FinOps Practitioner Certification course learn more about this FinOps Foundation certification that our Cloudy experienced instructors deliver: https://www.apptio.com/education-services/finops-certification.

    There are the other training and certifications at FinOps Foundation itself if you want to specialise or go for a higher certification FinOps Certification and Training. There is also some free basic training as well there.
