  • 1.  Look back at specific time frames

    Posted 11/09/19 12:34 PM

    Hi DMC team

In DSM we had option to choose a custom time-frame to analyze the history, in all perspectives.

But we lost this feature in DMC.  There is only fixed options,  from last 1,  last 3,  last N ... last week,  last month.

But all of them are related to some particular point in the past,  up to now!!

There are circumstances that is important to look on metrics,  just for a particular time-frame,
Like,  what happened 2 days ago,   between 2pm and 4pm  ?

    This is not possible anymore.

    :-(

    Hi Samuel,

You can select a custom timeframe after going into the details for any metrics, for example if you click into the Throughput widget which takes you to the WLM Workload Summary.

Would you want the same option in the Monitor Summary of a database and the selected time range apply to any details view?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Yes,  this feature to select custom time-frame in the summary is also important, specially when trying to find possible bottlenecks,  during timeframes the application complains about . So the summary page could give us a valuable insight.
We lost this capability, when comparing with DSM.

Bottom line is,  let the custom option to be available everywhere.

    Thanks

I'd agree that it is a very important capability to be able to look at a specific time frame in history.  It is imperative functionality.  DBAs need to be able to examine specific time windows from history.  Other tools on the market can do this.
