For approximately 15 months, we worked with TBMO, a large retailer, on an ApptioOne implementation project. We collected data and built a cost transparency model. We were able to visualize the data from different perspectives.
However, the goal of our project is not only visualization, but also cost optimization. Of course, the sponsors expect us to do the same.
Since the data we had at that time was limited, cost optimization was very difficult.
First, we worked with the CMDB team to proactively collect non-financial data and validate the existing workflow in the field.
By slightly extending existing reports, we were able to track the flow of people and goods by vendor, contract, and asset, and identify unnecessary contracts.

Lessons Learned:
Use cases for supplier reports
-During implementation, it would be good to confirm more expectations after visualization.
- More interviews about data that could be used would be good.
- In the future, we would like to include vendor managers and business owners in the discussion. And we want to fully utilize the Insight module.
In response to this initiative, customers appreciated the value they received.
