    We want to have latest s/w distribution i.e. December 2016 z/OS 2.2.

In order to plan for the same, we need clarification regarding below mentioned queries.

1. Currently we have zDnT 10.0.0 installed. Can we install latest s/w distribution (i.e. ADCD December 2016 z/OS 2.2) on the same or do we need to install zDnT 10.0.1 ?

2. If we can re-use existing zDnT 10.0.0 server. Process to install ADCD Dec 2016 would be to install ZPD volumes, unzip other volumes, modify devmap & IPL. Kindly confirm ?

3. If we want to install zDnT 10.0.1, can we re-use the License Mananger & update file of zDnT 10.0.0 for the new instance ?

 4. If we upgrade to ADCD Dec 2016, then all user data in terms of (z/OS,RACF, DB2, CICS etc) needs to be re-created in new ADCD or can it be migrated from old ADCD using some simpler method ?

Better if you can recreate. Otherwise, CICS and DB2 are on seperate volumes. You can use old volumes with new ADCD. You may have to do configuration to make it use.

     Or we can just remove the volume files corresponding to old ADCD from Linux level ? - No need, get new volumes (C2* volumes) unzip them and execute ADCD_INSTALL for SARES1 and C2RES1 to decrypt.

 2. If Uninstallation is required in prev question, Kindly let us know the process for the same ? If you would like to migrate zD&T from 10.0.0 to 10.0.1. then you will have to uninstall and install new version of 10.0.1. otherwise for ADCD no need to uninstall.

You can use modify option of IBm Installation manager to upgrade from 10.0.0 to 10.0.1. But, remember to stop UIMserver. loadserv stop, aksusbd stop and AWSSTOP before using any option (uninstall and then install or modify)

 3. Similarly, if zDnT v10.0.1 is installed on existing Linux server with old zDnT 10.0.0, can both version exist at same without uninstalling the older version ? No, you need to keep only one version. You can't keep both versions.
