zDT V12 Install issue

  • 1.  zDT V12 Install issue

    Posted Tue March 27, 2018 02:50 PM

    Hello,

    We are installing the new V12 zDT Parallel Sysplex as an upgrade from our V11 install, and the install is failing with the following error:

    If you do not accept the terms in the license agreements,

    type 'no' and then press ENTER

    ==>yes

    Removing aksusbd .....

    Stopping HASPLM daemon: [  OK  ]

    Stopping WINEHASP daemon: [  OK  ]

    Stopping AKSUSB daemon: [  OK  ]

    Removing z1091 .....

    Installing z1091 +++++

    error: Failed dependencies:

    ERROR: rpm install of z1091 failed with rc=1

       Please correct and re-start the install.

    [root@LPDCLDUT00874 ZDT12Install]#

    I have also tried uninstalling our older version and reinstalling with install option in both silent and standard mode to no avail, same error msgs. I just installed this same version successfully yesterday on our monoplex system with the upgrade option without any issues. This system is our test SYSPLEX system running zDT V11, zVM, etc.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Bruce,

    What version of Linux machine do you have? Could you upgrade glibc on  your Linux machine? This might be the problem of old version of Linux. Looks like you might have Linux version of 6.7 which supports upto glibc 2.12. But, you need to upgrade the version to Glibc 2.14 which is available from later versions of Linux.

    thanks,

    Hi Neeraj,

    We are running Redhat V6.9 practically everywhere on our bare metal and cloud servers with exception of 2 cloud servers running Redhat V7.4 (where our first upgrade worked fine). If we just upgrade the GLIBc package will we run into any other problems with redhat V6.9, do you know? it also might be nice to know if there's a prereq version we should have installed in order to upgrade, as this will take us some time and cycles to complete.

    Thanks, Bruce

    Hi Bruce,

    You can look for software supported by ZD&T here in the link (search with product name: z systems development and test enviornment and then version 12) : https://www.ibm.com/software/reports/compatibility/clarity/osForProduct.html

    We have not tested V12 with lower version of RHEL because our licensing package doesn't support. You can try upgrading the glibc to greater than 2.14, but I think glibc package won't be upgraded on lower version of RHEL due to underlying dependencies.

    If it is not highly required, as a workaround, you can still be on ZDT 11.0.2 and upgrade your ADCD with zos2.3 /zVM 6.4

    If you think that you would like to discuss your scenario with us, feel free to schedule meeting with us (team is not available on 03/30 and 04/02)

    Thanks,

    Neeraj Kumar
