I talked with the Team about it, and we try different ways to simulate what is happening and for sure try to find a solution for it. So the Refresh when opening the Gantt View was something we introduce for Customers that has the same work in multiple Work List due to some specific business need. That is not what we recommend but that is something they can do. And with the current technologic we have available the refresh is required once the Data Model was not designed for a partial refresh, once that causes performance and inconsistent issues over data we already faced in the past. The option we advise to be used in those scenarios where the same work Order is used in different Records of Graphical Assignment and Graphical Scheduling is:
Field: Refresh When Opening Gantt View Table.
Column: SKDPROJECT.AUTOREFRESHGVIEW
Indicates if the schedule or worklist will be refreshed every time the Gantt view is opened. If this check box is selected, the queries used to gather the schedule data will be run every time the Gantt view is opened, and new or updated work record data will appear. If this check box is cleared, data will only be refreshed upon clicking the Refresh Schedule button in the Gantt view
So that will need to be the change on the setup of the Work List to avoid this issue, and we will be able to have a Tech Note with more technical advice on what corrupts the current data model causing the load to fail once an inconsistency of records is found.
As part of current this explanation, that is something we will avoid in the next version of the Dispatching Dashboard once we will use a new way to handle that situation as part of the new Framework. Thanks and more than welcome to clarify if necessary.

I searched the support cases for your error and found a few hits. We put in this APAR:

which was fixed in IFix 002 for 7.6.1.2.
Does the exception in the APAR match what you are getting?
What version and IFix are you running?
Most of the reports were for 7.6.1.1.

Hi Craig, thanks for posting your comments here, I know we had the Case TS008165500 to review, and we could not reproduce that internally or match with any of the existing Cases.
If you have more detail on how this work gets updated in the background please let us know and we will be able to investigate more and give some answers about how to help with it.
Meanwhile, this problem seems that the Cluster has multiple JVMS and one of the Data of one doesn't match with the second that your user is using causing this model crash, but to isolate that scenario, we will need a bit more details and steps over it.

I have been experiencing the error when a user simply selects either the Work View or Assignment view in GA. The simple solution is to select the "Refresh Work List", but I should have to do that if I don't want to refresh. NB: The "Refresh When Opening the Gantt View?" is not selected.
So, if I look at the work order, it's there, but if I then duplicate or create a snapshot or scenario, it works for those, but not the original. This is most likely because there is an element of refreshing occurring.
My detective work has indicated that there are work orders that has been closed or cancelled since last looking at the schedule.
But, I believe there is some routine run everytime you switch to the tab, but IBM cannot tell me what that is, nor can I capture is in the SQL log.
Has anyone else experienced this, and it yes, what if, any, solution other then using the Refresh button have you found.
