    ■ Issue Overview
    When launching IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS) via command line or RPA scripts, the following message appears and the terminal window hangs:

    Environment.getBrowserType(): unknown browser, java.vendor=temurin
    • Closing the terminal window also terminates the ACS emulator.
    • If the emulator is launched once via GUI (icon), subsequent command-line launches work without issue.

    ■ Environment

    Item Value
    OS Windows 11 Enterprise 24H2 (also reproducible on some Windows 10 systems)
    ACS Version 1.1.9.3 to 1.1.9.7
    Java Eclipse Temurin (OpenJDK 8)
    Terminal Windows Terminal (default in Windows 11)

    ■ Actions Taken

    • Followed IBM’s guidance from node/719405 to switch to Windows Console Host → no effect.
    • Launching ACS once via GUI resolves the issue temporarily.
    • Issue also confirmed on Windows 10 with ACS 1.1.9.3+.

    ■ Questions

    • Are there any official workarounds or recommended configurations when using Temurin?
    • Has the behavior of Environment.getBrowserType() changed in ACS 1.1.9.x or later?
    • What are the best practices for stable ACS operation in RPA or batch environments?

    コマンド ラインまたは RPA スクリプトを使用して IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS) を起動

    上記の具体的なコマンドはどのようになっていますか？

    ACSのアイコンから起動すると問題ない、ということですので、こちらと差異があるのかもしれません。

    また、

    ACS 1.1.9.x 以降ではの動作は変更されましたか? Environment.getBrowserType() 

    は具体的なエラーの原因が不明なため、コメントがむつかしいと思います。

    現在のACS 1.1.9.xの推奨JavaバージョンはJava11です。Java11を試す案はあると思います。

    Hi Saori, 

    Have you perhaps tried to update this on the system? ACS EHLLAPI - Version 9.25.209 

    RPA in my experience doesn't just run under the Java Runtime, it needs to have the EHLLAPI for most vendors present, this might have went out of sync on the system with the last upgrade?

    Thanks for your support. And sorry for the late reply…

    This was an issue that occurred with temurin.

    The problem was resolved after changing to semeru.
    However, as you mentioned, ACS EHLLAPI seems to be related as well. We will ask the customer to check the version.

    That message is unrelated to EHLLAPI, though I can't say anything about the other issues you encountered, though I suspect not. If you want to investigate those further, you'd need to open a ticket with IBM Support.
