  • 1.  Issue when installing API Connect in Platform Navigator

    Posted 09/02/21 08:37 AM
    Hello!

I am new to CP4i/API Connect so I apologize if this is a newbie question.

When I was installing API Connect via Platform Navigator, I noticed that even if I specified a different namespace/project in the yaml that PN shows when installing APIC, it still installed in the Platform Navigator project (for us this is ibm-cp-pn).

I also tried installing PN, then installing APIC myself in Openshift in a different project (ibm-api-connect) but then Platform Navigator would not recognize that APIC was installed.

It seemed to me at the time that the only way I could get PN to recognize APIC was installed is to install it in the same project.  However this makes the ibm-cp-pn project very busy.  I was hoping to have PN and each component (like APIC, ACE, MQ, etc) in their own projects in Openshift so it's better organized.  Is that possible?

    Hello Jennifer,

If you would like to have the integration capabilities installed on different projects and managed by a central platform navigator, you need to install the operators on cluster scope.
    See Guidelines for installing operators
