  • 1.  Issue configuring Oracle Content Store with LDAP descriptor

    Posted 01/26/26 02:49 AM

    Hello Gurus,

I want to share my experience with this new 12.1.1, in a Distributed configuration that works perfectly on ICA 11.2.4 FP5 :

Our main systems involved on it are:

    • ICAS : 12.1.1 on windows server 2022
    • Oracle : 19.1
      • Oracle database (Advanced) Connection descriptor for a High Availability DB as :
        • ldap://ORALDAP_TNS1:0000/ICA_CONTENT_STORE,cn=OracleContext,dc=oracle,dc=MYCOMPANY ldap://ORALDAP_TNS2:0000/ICA_CONTENT_STORE,cn=OracleContext,dc=oracle,dc=MYCOMPANY

I'm getting errors while trying to start the Content Manager Service, all the tests passes and the green checks are showing but the start fails.

Reading the logs, I found some curious errors:

    • CM-SYS-5003 Content Manager is unable to connect to the content store.
    • IO Error: JNDI Package failure
    • Oracle Errors
    • etc

Again. all this configuration works perfectly on ICA 11.2.4 FP5.

I tried various drivers OJDB but got the same errors.

The ICA 11.2.4 FP5 worked fine in the same machine :

    ·         No network errors

    ·         No Oracle drivers errors

I fond this description that are very similar to mine but the solution proposed is not applicable in my context:

    ·         Cognos Analytics fails to connect to Oracle Content Store or Audit Store with ORA-12505 error

I'm waiting for the IBM's support answer but while waiting, I post this here, one never knows.

    Thank you.

    German

    Hi German,

Did you try to enable com.ibm.bi.logging.glug.hint.isready=false in bootstrap.properties file? (Details are here).

You might also want to try to regenerate crypto keys (see https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/286475).

Last idea, you might also run jdbctool from the command line to see if everything is working as expected. With jdbctool, you will be able to test a simple SQL to see if you can access to your content store (for instance, using [CMSYSPROPS] table) with (select * from [CMSYSPROPS] - adapt with your schema).

    Best regards,

    Bonjour Patrick,

    Merci de ta réponse.

I'll wait for the IBM Support answer because the same machine was running the ICA 11.2.4 FP5 fine but not this 12.1.1. version.

    Meilleures salutations

    German
