    Strictly speaking no, Integration Developer is not required for custom monitor models. You can use the Monitor Toolkit in Rational Application Developer.


    But if you are monitoring events coming from Business Process Manager or WebSphere ESB, you will benefit from the tight integration of Integration Developer and the Monitor toolkit.


    Note that IBM Business Monitor includes a copy of IBM Integration Developer. So you do not need to separately obtain Integration Developer if you choose to use it with Business Monitor.
