The attachment seems to indicates that the service addresses can be available on both  non-routable  networks at the same time.

What is required from the Network Engineer (configuration perspective) to support a two TCP/IP network configuration for IPAT. He indicates to me that this is not possible?

    2 VLANS are implied here!!

2 non-routable subnets (for base IP)

1 routable subnet (for service IP)

As taken from this doc: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/blogs/AIXDownUnder/resource/PowerHAPresentationMaterials.pdf?lang=en

I have taken a snapshot (attachment) of applicable slide

Should I be asking for 1 VLAN?? (assuming I'm out to lunch?)

Appreciate help from persons with similar config.

However, today the most common configs have multiple interfaces at the VIOS (dual VIOS with SEA) level and the end AIX client only has one single interface and then most of this doesn't apply anymore. Having said that IF you went to single adapter network config then here is a tip doc that may help.

I am quite fond of both sources.. :)

Your persistent IP, and 2 service IP are on the same Network and diferent interface. With this configuration you problably will have problems with routes that are dependent from your Default Gateway.

If you have a dul VIOS with SEA like bodily says, it´s a good idea to have only 1 client NIC and use your multiple service addresses configured to use this unique interface.
