    you can have multiple routes to the same network or host on aix, and control them by policy, weight or cost factors, check out google on "multipath routing". that is different from what ipmp sounds to me but solves the same problem on my first glance.

    as mentioned above, for disks MPIO is possible and for networking etherchannels (with NIB) is also possible
