The issue is that if a switch module is unplugged the system does not recognise that it is missing thus does not perform a failover at the OS and the primary channel is showing as active. If I force the NIB adapter to be used from the OS by executing an etherchannel failover then packets are routed though the secondary switch module however if I then remove that module we get the same issue where the system does not use the primary adapter, also if it is in NIB mode and the primary network module is plugged in the system does not fail back automatically.

We can implement a work around for this by setting the etherchannel configuration to ping a default gateway so when an adapter / connection breaks then a failover will occur but a fail back will not due to the issues above.

has anyone else had similar issues with bladecentre H and JS22 blades using cisco igesm modules.

    Thanks

    Chris.
