Hi,
Thank you very much for the information.
I will use Data Items to have the ability to make modifications without high impact on the reports.
Regards.

Hi Diego,
The "extended" option was removed in the transition from Cognos BI to Cognos Analytics v11.
Following is an excerpt from my Cognos Reporting course document that provides a brief explanation for the IBM theory behind the change:
"Dimensional data items added to a report in Cognos Reporting are inserted as extended data item objects with their properties visible in the Properties pane. The extended data items are treated as objects in the report layout and the underlying query.
In legacy Cognos BI versions (i.e. v10.2.2 and earlier), there was a report option which allowed report authors to turn off the extended nature of the dimensional data items. However, commencing with Cognos Analytics v11, the authoring mode report property "Always create extended data items" is no longer available in report properties. The change to report properties and removal of the property was part of the Cognos Analytics 11 paradigm shift to only provide full interactivity on extended data items for creating reports."
Basically IBM has said "The option serves no further useful purpose in the new analytics world. Get over it and move on."
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Syd
