  • 1.  Inheritance in XOM Class

    Posted 10 days ago

I would like to inherit an XOM Java class so that I can use methods from the parent class.

However, I cannot see the parent class attributes or methods in the BOM.

For example, I have a Person class with the attributes firstName and lastName.

I then created an Employee class that extends Person and added an employeeId attribute.

However, in my BOM, I can only see employeeId under Employee. The inherited attributes firstName and lastName are not visible.

Is inheritance supported in IBM ODM? If so, is there any additional configuration required for inherited properties and methods to appear in the BOM?

If you verbalize firstName and lastName on the Person class in the BOM, then it will just work in the rule authoring.  You won't see them in the BOM under employee but you will see then in the rule editor when working with an employee object.
