I have tried clearing the cache, changing computers and have even set up a new IBM Cognos trial account with a different email address and even that account is having the same issues.
Today when I log in I have even fewer visualization options. And this is specifically when I select New dashboard without selecting a dataset first.
Interestingly yesterday I made some charts with visualizations that were available and when I reload the dashboard the visualization isn't available and I get an error message where the previous visualization was, as in second image.

Do you have the same issue when you start a new dashboard? Some visualizations are not available when you don't have relevant data to use them.
