  • 1.  Impact Of SAMBA upgrade

    Hi All,

Currently we have SAMBA in our CIFS shares as follows:

bos.cifs_fs.rte 7.1.5.32 APPLIED Runtime for SMBFS
bos.cifs_fs.smit 7.1.0.0 COMMITTED SMIT Interface for SMBFS
bos.cifs_fs.rte 7.1.5.32 APPLIED Runtime for SMBFS
bos.cifs_fs.smit 7.1.0.0 COMMITTED SMIT Interface for SMBFS

We are having issues with fale transfers due to file sizes.
If I upgrade them to latest SMB version, will i be able to transfer file with high data volume ?
What are the other impacts /benefits I can assume .

This is not Samba server but SMB client for AIX.
It is not open source software.
I don't have information if the newer SMB client support bigger file size.
You can read more about newer SMB client
