Since you're new to the product, it's important to highlight that we're in the process of transitioning from our Maximo Asset Management product (7.6.1.X) to Maximo Application Suite. You initially mentioned installation and these two products are very different from an installation perspective. You should discuss with your organization to determine the appropriate product to focus on from an installation perspective. Our end of support for 7.6.1.X is September 2025 (though customers can pay for extended support) so as long as you have the resources available that know how to install 7.6.1.X, I would personally focus on learning the new architecture (built on OpenShift and containers) rather than spending a lot of time learning the old architecture that will be obsolete in a few years.
Almost all the administration related capabilities inside of Manage are identical between 7.6.1.X and Manage so I think this would be the best area to focus on, especially in a support role. Understanding how security works (including some complicated topics like independent security groups, labor restrictions, site restrictions, etc.), some of the common configuration (Application Designer, Database Configuration, Domains, System Properties, Organization Settings, etc.), and understanding (but not necessarily writing) integrations, automation scripts, and reports. Learning what you can about your existing configurations would be extremely beneficial, but it's very hit or miss whether they're documented and how well they're documented.
