Dear IBM Power and IBM Maximo Product Team,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue we have encountered while working with one of the major oil & gas companies in Kuwait. They have heavily invested in IBM Power Infrastructure, and as part of our ongoing partnership, we are planning to refresh their existing power servers with the new Power 10 series servers by the end of this year. However, we have run into a showstopper due to the recent announcement stating that IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.x is not compatible with IBM Power. This compatibility issue poses a significant risk, potentially resulting in multi-million dollar losses for both IBM and GBM.
To the best of my knowledge, the Manage module for Maximo Application Suite 8.x is IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.1.x, which is packaged on the OpenShift environment. I understand that IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.1.x is already certified on IBM Power servers. Furthermore, considering that Red Hat OpenShift is also certified on IBM Power, I believe there should not be any compatibility issues with running IBM Maximo Application Suite on IBM Power servers.
However, to address any compatibility concerns effectively, it is essential to foster collaboration between the IBM Power and IBM Maximo product teams. Therefore, I kindly request your assistance in facilitating communication and coordination between these teams to resolve any potential issues. By working together, we can ensure that our customer's investment in IBM Power infrastructure is protected, and the migration to the new Power 10 series servers can proceed smoothly.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response. Please let me know if there is any additional information or clarification required from our end. Thank you for your cooperation.
