    Hello,

    does any one managed to find and download somehow IBM i 7.5 TR6 SF99957 group PTF ?
    Although per IBM announcement letter, it should be available since 18 April 2025, on IBM FixCentral, still TR5 is listed.
    Is TR6 "hidden" in any other group PTF or anywhere else ?

    Hi,

    IBM has changed the TR policy in 2025. Please read https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/668133, and https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-i-75-tr6-enhancements about the STR6.

    As far as I understood:

    • former TR is now Hardware TR, probably no newer package until Power11
    • Software TR won't get a dedicated package anymore, it will be included in other groups or in CUM

    Hello Sylvain,

    thank you for your prompt reply. If things have changed in that way, I think it will be hard to identify the TR level a system is without a clear identification (i.e. a marker PTF, specific cumulative plus group PTFs etc.) Seems more complicated.

    My personal experience about the availability for download of an IBM i TR package from Fix Central (or even the install image files of the newly announced IBM i release) was that it was rarely ever available for download, if at all, on its announcement date. As far as I can remember, it took a few weeks to a month afterwards before I could download it.  You may want to revisit Fix Central again in about 10 days or so from now.
