Related to your question: plans yes, dates no.
There are certain operational challenges we are working internally to resolve first before making the final decision.

Hello Joachim,
Currently we are not planning to have a release for AIX.
The reason for that is because there are a number of components we need for Agentic AI that are not available on AIX.
You can still monitor databases on AIX, but the Db2 Genius Hub needs to be installed on Linux or Windows (coming soon).

Hello Cintia,
Really great news.
Can you tell me when the version for AIX will be released? It says "coming soon" for Windows, but not for AIX. Or is Linux the preferred platform for the future?
Best regards, Joachim

Hello all,
Some great news: Db2 Genius Hub is now available for download.
Db2 Genius Hub is replacing the Db2 Intelligence Center with a new way to manage your databases using agentic intelligence for autonomous database operations, embedding AI-driven reasoning and built-in agents directly into Db2.
Here are some additional information:
The trial is now 90 days instead of 30 days for the advanced features, and after the trial, you can still use the free version of the product.
And if you have any issues, please let us know, and we will be glad to assist you.

Hello Madhusudan,
If you are using Data Studio with LUW databases, have you tried Data Management Console (DMC) or Db2 Intelligence Center (Db2IC)?
We do have the same features that you mentioned, and in addition, we have alerts, monitor Q Rep queues, query tuning, historical data, etc.
One of the advantages for monitoring is, as DMC and Db2IC support newer Db2 releases, we use newer metrics as well. For example, in Db2 Intelligence Center, the query tuning feature has impact analysis and what if reports too.
It has a lot more metric details compared to the old Data Studio, which has not being improved for several years. Data Studio tolerates newer Db2 releases, but it does not explore the new features or metrics.
In case you are interested to try, DMC is free of charge and you can download the V3.1.13.2 from IBM Fix Central
If you need help, I have the DMC User's Guide
For Db2 Intelligence Center, we have a 30 days trial
If you need help, I have a workshop material showing steps on how to install, and use the product, that I can share with customers.
I hope that helps!

The IBM Data Studio Web Console provides health monitoring, job management and connection management for DB2 databases. It can be used to share monitored features and analysis across database servers. The web console generates reports and keep track of databases. These report are handy for investigating performance problems and setting benchmarks for database.

Hello Community,
I need some help from all of you.
As you might know, Data Studio support team only knows that you are using a product when there is an issue with it, and you create a case with us.
We don't actually know how you use the product on your daily routine.
Can you please provide a list of Data Studio features that you like/use the most and why?
That would help provide a feedback to the product manager and development team to improve our products.
Appreciate the feedback!

Hello Carol,
Data Studio does not support z/OS databases since March 31 2025 as the announcement here:
https://community.ibm.com/community/user/blogs/jane-chan2/2024/02/27/ibm-data-studio-support-for-db2-for-zos-ends-on-ma
Just to clarify, a non-supported environment means, if it works: great, but if it doesn't, we are not able to help you.
So my recommendation is to start using the new z/OS replacement products as soon as possible, before Data Studio stopped working with new z/OS releases.

My understanding is that DS does not support DB2 on Z/os V13, is this still true. We are currently at DS 4.1.4. It seems to work at DB2 V13 FL100, can it be used at hight function levels in DB2 V13.
If it does I would be delighted and would install the new version of DS.

Hello all,
As promised, here is the latest news that I have about IM release topic:
Unfortunately Data Studio 4.2 is only supporting Installation Manager 1.9.3.3 or 1.9.3.4, and this is a limitation of the product.
Currently we don't have plans to support IM 1.10.
Please refer to Data Studio 4.2 installation procedure here:

Hello Pawel,
As Data Studio is currently in maintenance mode, we only had vulnerabilities and newer OS versions available for the new 4.2.0. We did not have any features enhancements in the code.
You can see the list of changes in the following link: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7257426

FYI,
IBM have just released Data Studio 4.2.0 to address multiple vulnerabilities in the old versions.
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7258315?myns=swgother&mynp=OCSS62YD&mync=E&cm_sp=swgother-_-OCSS62YD-_-E
It is a separate install, not an upgrade. I don't think there are any functional improvements, just the security update.
To save you hunting for it, here's the link to Fix Central:
