Hi Yara,
if you want to re-use existing controls, you would have to implement a simple CMIS interface fronting your file server as BAW/BPM supports CMIS based content management systems with the existing content related controls (e.g. ECM Document List, Document Explorer. etc).
In any other case, you would have to implement your own controls to work with the documents as well as the management the documents itself.
May I ask you for the business case of removing the FileNet CM based document management? Are you using FileNet CM only as a sub component of BAW (or BPM) or are you currently leveraging an external FN CM system which will be decommissioned?
Best regards,
Michael

Subject: IBM BPM Integration with file server
Hello Everyone,
I have a requirement to change content management from FileNet-based archiving system to a simple file server system.
the new system is basically storing documents in folders on the server and documents are organized by folder paths.
ex: 10.9.78.1\Process1\Instance-2134\.. etc.
is it possible to make an integration between IBM BPM 8.6 and a file server like this? if yes, will it be using the out-of-the-box controls (document uploader - document explorer - .. etc)? or will I have to build my controls from scratch?
Thanks in advance for your help :)
