  • 1.  HTTP Error when using Datasets

    Posted Thu April 29, 2021 04:11 AM
    Hello everybody,

    When creating dashboards on datasets, I regularly get an HTTP error:

    If the error occurs, no more reports can be opened until the Cognos server is restarted. The following error message is permanently output in the cogserver.log file after the error occurs:

    2021-04-29T10: 07: 16,941 + 0,200 ERROR com.ibm.bi.platform.commons.web.BIResponseWrapper [default executor thread-251] ljlM8qhqMvv2vsl9sd8wh2Gw9lMlwqGvC9q8Glql ljlM8qhqMvv2vsl9sd8wh2Gw9lMlwqGvC9q8Glql MvswdCdCCys4sljC9syhlChvsCdl29d29vCwjqhy NA NA 10.10.18.81 57953 bi-service 4908 HttpServletResponseCode for / bi / health is in error: 503

    Has anyone experienced this error?

    We are currently using Cognos 11.1.7 FP2 based on Windows Server 2016. The data modules are based on Oracle and MS SQL data servers.

    Best wishes
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel;

    I never had this error before, but I guess it is important to know if you're using a gateway (IIS, Apache, etc.) or do you access the server directly through port 9300? Is this a single server installation? Do you use a data source configured in the new or legacy administration ("Datenserververbindungen" vs. "Datanquellenverbindungen")?

    Robert

    Hi Robert,

    we use an IIS gateway but the problem also occurs directly on the dispatcher. It is a dual dispatcher installation (32 & 64bit) on the same server (port 9300 & 9400) The datasource is configured in the new administration. The error only occurs when using dashboards or reports on data modules, but ensures that the 64bit dispatcher can no longer process requests.

    It's very strange that it only happens with dashboards. I guess it cannot be a problem with the data source itself as you use a data set which is stored on the CA server als Apache parquet file. So there's no connection to the Oracle or MSSQL server when using the data set in dashboards. Have you already created a support ticket @IBM?
