How to use an expression in a Join?

  • 1.  How to use an expression in a Join?

    Posted Mon November 09, 2020 04:27 PM

When joining two synonyms, I have noticed that there is a possibility to define a filter based on an expression. However no matter what I input in there I get an "Error: is invalid" once I try to close the main Join screen. The errors have different codes. For example: IA_201109_101754-1, IA_201109_100130-1.

I am trying to join to a file and pull only information from last month. I need it to return a null/missing if there are no records for last month.

Turns out this is a bug or a limitation in InfoAssist. I can edit the report definition using the text editor and successfully add the condition there. However that makes the report no longer editable in InfoAssist with "Unrecoverable Error" Code: 1024 Type: xFDMinit Error: is invalid(IA_201110_161714-1)(IA_201110_161714-1)(IA_201110_161714-1)

Also, I just realized that the "IA_" code is nothing more than a time stamp.
