Hi,
Sorry I figured this problem out myself. Please ignore this post. And if someone has the same problem, please refer to the following instructions:
You can save an unencrypted version of an encrypted data file or output document by opening the file, choosing File > Save As and deselecting Encrypt file with password in the associated Save As dialog box. For an encrypted syntax file, select Syntax from the Save as type drop-down list to save an unencrypted version of the file.
Many thanks and best wishes,

Subject: How to remove passward protection from SPSS
Hi,
I was trying to import a .SAV file into Stata but it says unable to parse file on disk.

I think this is because my SPSS file is protected by passward so Stata could not read it ?
So my question is how to remove passward protection in SPSS?( I know the passward but it was not set by me, so I do not know how to remove it)
Many thanks and best wishes,
