MAM 7.6.1.2:

I have 200 routes. Each route has thousands of assets. The routes' assets change over time (new, modified, decom), so the routes need to be refreshed so that their assets/stops are up to date.

Unfortunately, there isn't an OOB way to base routes on dynamic asset queries -- which would be ideal.

And of course, manually deleting thousands of individual route stops isn’t practical.

As a workaround, we go through all 200 routes, twice per year, and do the following:
- Delete each route
- Recreate each route
- Load the assets as route stops into the new routes -- via the OOB Excel application import action

To be honest, this process is pretty terrible. At a bare minimum, we should be able to open each route and batch-delete all the route stops (instead of deleting and recreating the route). Once the routes were deleted and recreated, we'd reload the assets/stops via Excel.

Is there an OOB way to delete all route stops in a route?

@Colin Aitchison pointed out that this can be done with MxLoader or Excel application import. The key is to create an object structure that is only for the route stops (don't include routes) so that only the route stops are deleted, not the parent route.
