I would want to create a customized Selection parameter in my Dashboard. For example, I want to create a selection parameter with values as "Single", "Married", "Widowed", "NA". And while I select any of these values, the measure in my table will change accordingly.

How do I create this parameter List ?

If you have associated dimension available in same fact table, you can drag it to filter.   
If table is not available,

• You can upload excel and join in Data Module to use on Dashboard
• You may also want to try Data group to categorize and use on Dashboard
