The presence/absence of a vendor specific folder should not be construed as an indication of integration.
All supported vendors are integrated to the extent that a vendor's product/releases are capable of supporting.
Should you want to reference a vendor proprietary function you can type it in.

So why don't we see all the native VQL functions that Denodo provides in Cognos then if its aware of all its capabilities?

Not sure what you meant by "just a hook". Suffice to say, our engine is aware of what Denodo's mid-tier SQL engine supports. As applicable, aware of changes and issues re Denodo versions.
In some cases, persons using our s/w may see that we leverage a vendor (i.e ORACLE etc), where the same may not be true re Denodo's SQL engine. For example, their restrictions re SQL windowed functions/aggregates. I would encourage you to contact Denodo with respect to when they will commit to improving their engine.
Example: "Virtual DataPort can delegate these functions to a database, but cannot execute them. Therefore, if a query uses one of these functions and it cannot be delegated to a database, the query will fail."

Hi Nigel,
Since the current implementation is nothing more then a hook to the Denodo JDBC, could we also have Denodo as a function set with their VQL query functions. Now its limited to the build in Cognos functions which restrict the usage of Cognos with Denodo severely.
Problem is they try to do both the same. Denodo is a general data virtualisation tool with query pushdown and well, Cognos does basicly the same.. Trouble comes that for Cognos Denodo is the endpoint and doesnt know what database endpoints there are. Therefore Cognos needs to push down its queries to the native VQL statements to optimize the pushdown further. Else a LOT of local processing on Cognos end will occure (tested it on simple migration from Oracle to Denodo on the same Oracle endpoint and it was a nightmare).

Can't comment on whatever you may have seen/been told etc.
Suffice to say, support for Denodo 5.5 and 6.0 was provided in 11.0.3.
Denodo's 5.5 driver was not compatible with their 6.x server.
Their 6.0 JDBC driver initially had bugs which they fixed via their patching process (Denodo hot fix #26681).
Denodo were aware of the above.
Their 7.x s/w had a defect which they fixed in Denodo 7.0 update 20200310

We are on Denodo version 7.0. We were told by IBM that they only had support up to version 6.0. I believe my team tested the version 6 driver with no success which forced us to use ODBC.

Support for Denodo via their JDBC driver has been provided since 11.0.3. (July 2016).

Refer to Denodo documentation on how to download their JDBC driver and connection properties etc.

Hi All,
Is there any standard method to connect CA 11.1.x with Data Virtualization tools like Denodo?
Thanks for any inputs!
