    Hello,

Please, how to add a storage to LinuxONE through FC SAN switches? What are the steps and procedures?

    Thank you.

    Happy New Year, Berenger,

I'm not quite sure what you're asking for and the environment you're in. So let me start with some assumptions:

Because of using Fiber Channel (FC) I think you have z/OS in your data center. z/OS I/O configuration is done via z/OS Hardware Configuration Definition (HCD). IBM Z attached I/O is build for sharing, so assuming your storage server is shared between IBM Z (z/OS) and your LinuxONE machine.

If you're LinuxONE is managed by the same team that is managing IBM Z machines, then this team can also configure your LinuxONE machine and use the shared infrastructure, e.g. FC switches, logical storage subsystems (LSS)/control units.

As an alternative, LinuxONE machines can be configured using IBM Dynamic Partition Manager (DPM). This is a single server configuration in the Hardware Management Console/Support Element.

There's a third method using plain IOCP. I would not recommend that.

Depending on the tool (HCD, IOCP, or DPM) to configure you machine, the configuration steps are quire different. So please let me know, what's your environment, which configuration method you intend to use, and what's the current state of your installation. From there, I can guide you through the steps.

    I hope this help.
