I'm trying out how the IBM proces mining tool works.
After inserting my data and setting the data mapping, there result is as in attachement image.png.
I figured the reason for this is the BPMN proces flow that is auto-generated. 
How can I change this BPMN model? I have tried by creating a simulation, and than updating the process. However, after saving I can't seem to find the changes I made. How can I make changes to the BPMN proces model?

And when I save this changed process, will it also update back into the BPMN model page?

The BPMN model that is automatically generated from the eventlog can only be changed if you change the log. For example by adding filters.
Then you can edit the BPMN model in BPA as you saw just earlier.
With this BPMN model you can:
- export it to a process modelling tool, or to a workflow
- use it as a reference model for conformance checking. For this you need to have filtered the events that represent the happy path. For example by selecting a few variants that are compliant, creating a filter with them, and generating the BPMN
- create a simulation scenario using your modified BPMN model
