  • 1.  How to bypass system console prompt screens?

    IBM iACS 1.1.9.7
     
    HMC
    Version: 10
    Release: 3
    Build Level: 2411282125
    Service Pack: 1061
     
    I went into System Configurations.  Edited one.  Console tab. HMC 5250 Console.  Use SSL is checked on.  Put in my HMC name.  Clicked Advanced.  Filled in an HMC user id.  Clicked Connect and browse.  Selected Managed System, and the partition and it is now filled out on this screen.  Verify Connection works after rejecting the non secure connection.
     
    However, when I get back to iACS and pick Console, 5250 Console, I still have to enter the user id and password on this screen "Enter your management console userid and password".  I also have to fill out "Enter your session key:".
     
    Shouldn't it be able to at least bypass the "Enter your management console userid and password" since I entered that into the Advanced part?

    As far as I understood they are not the same: ACS prompts are to identify ACS on HMC management, green screen prompts are for the 5250 "proxy" thing.

    As strange as it seems, you can use different users!

    Maybe it's worth an idea in HMC group?

    it is possible to create an "auto-start" HOD macro to bypass the HMC screens up to the IBM i logon screen.

    it is not trivial, but can be done.

    Shouldn't have to create a macro.  All should be covered in that Advanced tab, and hopefully will be one day.
