Hi Everyone,

As we all know cognos analytics is giving us an option to create a data server connection and then use it further in data module. It is a good feature that cognos has introduced but I feel some challenge here.

Challenge is, if we are adding new table or view or new column in existing table we have to manually load the metadata in Data server connection to appear the changes in the data module.

Is there any way to automate this load metadata step so that changes will be visible immediately in data module.

We are using IBM Db2 on cloud as database and any new tables added in DB are added automatically to Data Server so they are available for changes to Data Modules.

However, in Existing Data module, there is now option to refresh from UI similar to FM. There is no current option to refresh it automatically. Any changes in backend may cause error in Data module and on reports so it should be controllable.

You can create report using system tables to see what's newly added to Database/schema and can refresh weekly or as part of change.
