But you also can add the printer as a remote standard printer.
"smit spooler"
add print queue --> remote (Printer attached to remote host)
--> Stardard processing
Name of QUEUE to add (Any name)
HOST name of remote server (The IP address of the printer)
Name of queue QUEUE on remote server (It can be the same name used before)
And the default options.

This is working for me with many kinds of printers.
